David Dejoz
PhD Student
David obtained his Bachelor's degree in Chemistry in 2023 from the University of Valencia. During his final year project, under the supervision of Dr. Izgu Cagri at the University of Rutgers (New Jersey, USA), he developed Buchwald-Hartwig coupling reactions for the creation of mRNA sensors targetting early lung cancer detection. Following this experience, he continued his studies pursuing a Master's degree in Experimental Chemistry Techniques. During the Master's thesis, he explored the possibilities of miniaturization in the detection of new psychoactive substances in biological samples, under the direction of Dr. Salvador Garrigues. In 2025 he joined Dr. Andreu Tortajada's group to start his PhD in organometallic chemistry and catalysis. Outside the lab, he likes to keep fit and cook foreign recipes and play chess.
Mikaël le Roch
Postdoctoral Researcher
Mikaël LE ROCH obtained his Master’s degree in 2021 from Sorbonne Université (France), specializing in molecular and theoretical chemistry. For his Master’s research project, he worked under the supervision of Dr. Julie Oble and Prof. Giovanni Poli (IPCM) on the development of new C-H activation methodologies based on Pd(II) chemistry. He then pursued a Ph.D. at Sorbonne Université under the supervision of Dr. Stéphanie Halbert (LCT) and Prof. Fabrice Chemla (IPCM). His research focused on the combined experimental and computational study of low-valent Zn(I) complexes, with the aim of developing innovative strategies leveraging this oxidation state for the reduction of triple bonds and other small molecules. In April 2025, he joined Dr. Andreu Tortajada’s group as a postdoctoral researcher. Outside the lab, Mikaël enjoys sports, playing chess and video games, and is passionate about science fiction literature.
